The DezyStrong Foundation was founded in 2019 by Sachem teacher,Matthew “dezy” Distefano, was established to provide the opportunity for individuals with cancer to have access to experiences that directly affect a positive mental well-being.
In February 2018, Dezy was diagnosed with Stage 4 Kidney Cancer. Since that time, he has dedicated himself to conquering the disease, while at the same time, creating the DezyStrong Foundation to help support others affected by cancer. Below is a short documentary that covers the day he learned of his diagnosis, and since then, how he approaches his fight. His story is an inspiring look at how to approach life.
At DezyStrong, we believe the mind is a powerful thing. Fighting cancer takes a strong body AND a strong mind. The goal of the DezyStrong Foundation is to support those affected by cancer keep a healthy and strong mental outlook during their fight. We help by providing with the ability to create and share special experiences along with the ability to share it with friends, family, or other loved ones.
