Summer’s On – Teachers Work All Summer Long!

Margaret from the United Teachers of Seaford
Clint from the Teachers Association of Sag Harbor
David from the Bellport Teachers Association

You may think Long Island Teachers have the Summer’s off, but Long Island Teachers are taking the Summer On…

This is Margret Glancy of the United Teachers of Seaford. In Seaford, we have a four week Summer reading and math program for over 100 students from grades K-4. Over 20 teachers work in small groups to enhance the skills students learned throughout the year. We make learning come alive!

This is Clint Schulman of the Teachers Association of Sag Harbor. In addition to coaching the school golf team, I participate in a 20 student robotics program called first for inspiration and recognition of science and technology – where we teach students to code, basic mechanics, and troubleshooting. Summer time is robot time.

This is David Perkins of the Bellport Teachers Association. Myself along with other teachers work in a summer sports camp where over 100 students from grades K through 7 learn teamwork, cooperation, sportsmanship, and community through soccer, baseball, and lacrosse to name a few. Arts and crafts keep their skills sharp too!
